I am proud to share this Publishers Weekly review of A Day With Monster!
This has been an incredible few days for me. Today, I got the PW review email, which still has me reeling. On Saturday, I participated in Books By the Banks, a Cincinnati Book Festival, and my books and felted work were rather well-received. I signed many copies, spoke to many people about felting, and make some new friends within the toddler set (and some older children, too). I am starting to feel like a real author, and getting very excited to do more felting work, too.
A DAY WITH MONSTER by Kelli Gleiner, Kelli Gleiner | Kirkus.
I am starting to feel like an author, like something that I have created is spreading is really “out there” in the world. At first, I viewed the book projects as a job perk, a side project, a whim. I had a very “why not?” attitude toward them. After sitting at Books By The Banks with other “real” authors and having people come up to me, read the books, purchase them, or just say they enjoyed my little critters on the table, it hit me, and I began to not only feel proud of my work, but extremely grateful to Dr. John Hutton at blue manatee press for pushing me to make these little books happen.

The Monster needs to look sharp to go to work! Working with my favorite Dixon Ticonderoga pencils and some rather old, but treasured Prismacolors, the storyboards for A Day With Monster are coming along nicely.
Exciting news: a new Monster book will be coming out this Fall, featuring our beloved, felted furry friend!
